Device setup
Regular packaged and hosted apps need no setup: open http://cnuuyy.space/
in the Firefox OS browser and tap Install.
Privileged apps
Every package in the archive is signed with the Mozilla Marketplace key, whose certificate expired on 2018-02-26, and Gecko only accepts signed packages from marketplace.firefox.com. So this Marketplace serves packages with the signature stripped, and the device needs developer mode, which allows unsigned privileged apps. Download setup-device.sh, connect the phone over USB and run on your computer:
chmod +x setup-device.sh ./setup-device.sh # enable ./setup-device.sh --undo # disable
Over adb (needs root, as on eng builds) the script adds
user_pref("dom.apps.developer_mode", true); to the profile and restarts b2g.
Marketplace on the homescreen
Open the home page in the phone's browser, tap "Add Marketplace to homescreen" in the orange banner and confirm. The Marketplace then appears as its own app with back/forward buttons.
Limitations
- Hosted apps load from their developers' sites, many of which no longer exist.
- Apps that declare their own
originget a randomapp://{uuid}because they install unsigned. This may break OAuth logins and similar features. - Paid apps may check purchase receipts that can no longer be issued.
